Since PsySSA’s inception 30 years ago, the Society has undergone exponential growth. Throughout its evolutionary journey, PsySSA has endeavoured to bring value and an exciting range of benefits to its members.

The Society is pleased to announce that, in lieu of the current economic climate and in honour of our 30th AnniversaryPsySSA members will receive the 2024 PsySSA Membership Package at 2023’s rates! 

Over and above PsySSA’s comprehensive list of membership benefits, in 2024, PsySSA members will have the opportunity to earn 30 General & 5 Ethics CEU points, through various CPD activities which include our webinar and workshop series. Since PsySSA’s inception 28 years ago, the Society has undergone exponential growth. Most recently, over the last two years, it has adapted to the extraordinary times that the Society has found itself in. Ensuring that as an organisation we are able to provide for our members, professionally and socially whilst advocating for psychology as a science and profession of global stature and promote psychological praxis as relevant, proactive and responsive to societal needs and well-being. 

The Society is delighted to declare that, in lieu of on the current economic climate and as a token of appreciation to our members for their continued support, PsySSA members will receive the 2022 PsySSA Membership Package at 2019’s rates! PsySSA Membership 2022: Now Open! Professional Indemnity Insurance

On the 22nd of November 2021 we announced the opening of Membership 2022. 
 
The Society declared that, in lieu of on the current economic climate and as a token of appreciation to our members for their continued supportPsySSA members will receive the 2022 PsySSA Membership Package at 2019’s rates. This means that there has not been an increase in our membership fees for over three years! 

We would like to highlight our Professional Indemnity Insurance Benefit that members will receive at a discounted rate in 2022. 

As a psychology practitioner, Professional Indemnity Cover is mandatory for all. 

“All registered psychologists must obtain professional indemnity cover, which must be fully maintained at all times” as per the Health Professional Act 56 of 1974.”

PsySSA has negotiated a comprehensive indemnity insurance package on behalf of its members through FNB. The Professional Indemnity Insurance that is provided by Hollard through FNB Insurance Brokers is designed to indemnify the insured Professional against pecuniary losses arising out of:

  • A Negligent Act
  • Error or omission, which causes loss to be suffered by their client or a third party
