Suntosh R. Pillay (he/him) is the chief clinical psychologist for the eThekwini District in the KZN Department of Health. He has over 15 years of experience in the public health sector and worked at various facilities, including King Dinuzulu Hospital Complex, in Durban. He affiliated to the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulu-Natal, as an adjunct researcher, and is a PHD candidate at UNISA. Suntosh’s work is centred around critical, community and decolonial psychologies, including setting up mental health support groups, advocacy structures, and grassroots projects. He is a core member of the African LGBTQIA+ Human Rights Project for over 10 years. In terms of academic citizenship, Suntosh is an Associate Editor for Psychology in Society (PINS) and on the editorial board of the South African Journal of Psychology (SAJP). In 2024, he was awarded the PsySSA prize for Service to Community. His publications are available on Google Scholar and Research Gate.

Barry is a clinical psychologist who has experience in working within both the private and state sectors in primary, secondary and tertiary settings. These have been in correctional and rehabilitative contexts. He has presented at several conference both internationally and locally on a variety of topics. His focus is primarily on working with children and adolescents, however, not exclusively to. His areas of special interest are behavioural problems, trauma, family and parenting challenges, substance use and abuse difficulties, chronic pain management, life stage adjustment difficulties, neuropsychology in rehabilitative and forensic contexts.

Dr Sonja Mostert is a registered Research Psychologist currently employed as a senior lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pretoria. She is passionate about the field of health psychology and ways of improving health by means of improved health literacy and health behaviour change initiatives. She is a member of the Health Psychology Division of PsySSA and teaches several undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including health psychology to undergraduate medical students. Her primary research areas include health literacy, digital health literacy, diabetes research and health behaviour change and communication.

Omphile Rammopo holds a Masters degree in Research Psychology from the University of Johannesburg. Currently, he is an Intern Clinical Psychologist at Dr. George Mukhari Hospital, having completed his training at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. His research primarily revolves around men’s mental health, reflecting his commitment to understanding and addressing the unique challenges they face. Additionally, he is interested in engaging in neuropsychological research and the applicability of different psychotherapeutic modalities to the South African population.
