Martha Maogi

Martha Moagi is a passionate leader with an extensive leadership background. She has a strong interest in volunteer work. She is a mental health advocate who has been invited to several speaking engagements to raise mental health awareness on YouTube and virtually. She has been mentoring psychology students since 2021 through the UNISA Student Mentorship programme. Every year she has had successful candidates make it into the professional psychology masters programme. In 2024, she was mentoring psychology students at the Cognition and Co programme, and she has had successful candidates make it into the professional psychology masters. In January 2025, she launched her mentorship programme, Sailing With Martha. She holds a Higher Certificate in Archives and Records Management, a BA Degree in Psychology, and a BA Honours (Cum Laude) in Psychology, all obtained from the University of South Africa. She is currently enrolled for the Master of Social Sciences in Counselling Psychology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She is an HPCSA-registered Intern Counselling Psychologist. She is an Intern Counselling Psychologist at the Student Counselling Unit (SCU) at the University of Fort Hare East London campus. She is passionate about student well-being, and her interests lie in fostering holistic student success. In 2024, she presented an opinion piece at the 44th annual SAACDHE conference, and in 2025, she presented her masters research at the 8th Southern African Psychology Students’ Conference.

Deneo Nande Sekese

Deneo Nande Sekese

Deneo Nande Sekese started her career in Human Resources, particularly Training and Development and Organisational Development. Her passion for people and therapy led to a midlife career change into psychology. Deneo completed her master’s in Counselling Psychology at Rhodes University and an internship at the Durban University of Technology Student Counselling Centre. She has had the privilege of presenting her master’s research at the 27th Annual South African Psychology Congress. Deneo’s areas of interest are African Psychology, Wellbeing and Salutogenesis, Health and Community Psychology. She runs a private practice on the lower south coast of KZN and Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape. She is an additional member of the South African Association for Counselling Psychologists executive committee.
