Thembisile Dlamini (she/her) is a Clinical Psychologist who completed her internship at Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital and is about to begin her Community Service year. She graduated cum laude with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from UNISA, where she also obtained her BA in Social Science and BA Honours in Psychology.
After a 14-year career in finance, Thembisile transitioned to psychology, driven by her passion for mental health and meaningful social impact. A proud alumna of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI), she earned a Certificate in Public Management in 2017, strengthening her leadership foundation.
She blends these leadership skills with a culturally sensitive, affirmative therapeutic approach, committed to addressing systemic barriers to care. Her advocacy focuses on LGBTQIA+ individuals, women, and children from disadvantaged backgrounds, with a strong emphasis on creating safe, equitable spaces for healing and resilience.
Thembisile serves on the Executive Committee of PsySSA’s Sexuality and Gender Division (SGD) and is part of the PsySSA SGD African LGBTQIA+ Human Rights Project.
