Tarika Rajcoomar

Tarika Rajcoomar joined the PsySSA Student Division in 2022, as the Chairperson of the Transformation Subcommittee. In the year 2023 she began working with the Multidisciplinary Subcommittee as an additional member. She is an aspiring clinical psychologist. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Social Sciences Majoring in Psychology and Counselling at the South African College of Psychology. She has a particular interest in the decolonisation of psychological research and practice as well understanding how systems of oppression impact mental health.

Selaelo Debang

Selaelo Debang

Selaelo Debang initially joined the PsySSA Student Division in 2022 as the Limpopo Regional Representative. Currently, he is a mentee within the 2023 PsySSA SD National Mentorship Programme and has been appointed as an Additional Member for the 2024 PsySSA Student Division Executive Committee. he is currently completing a Master of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Limpopo. He has obtained both his Honours degree in psychology and Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Psychology at the University of Limpopo. He is an aspiring Clinical Psychologist, with an interest in Substance addiction, behavioural addiction, and traumatic stress.

Prof. Kobus Maree

Prof. Kobus Maree

Kobus Maree lectures counselling for career construction to educational and counselling master’s psychology students at the University of Pretoria. His research is aligned with the “Leave No One Behind” pledge (UNESCO). Kobus has received multiple awards, including a fellowship from the IAAP (2014) and the PsySSA (2017). In 2018 and again in 2022, was elected a member-at-large of the IAAP.

Caroll Hermann

Caroll Hermann

Caroll Hermann is a Clinical Psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, School of Psychosocial Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, North West University, Mafikeng Campus.  Previouisly, she served on the HoD Forum, and a term on the SASCP.  She has worked in the Public, private sector but her passion is academia. She teaches psychopathology, positive psychology and neuropsychology at undergrad and postgrad level. Her research interests are ecopsychology, positive psychology and  neuropsychology.

Genevieve Burrow

Genevieve Burrow

Genevieve Burrow is a registered counsellor who has served on various Executive Committees at PsySSA for six years. With a wealth of experience, Genevieve Burrow is committed to driving excellence and innovation in the practice of counselling, and promoting the visibility and importance of this field. Genevieve works at The Youth Hub, based at Groote Schuur Hospital Adolescent Centre of Excellence, where she counsels, oversees students, and coordinates the counselling centre.  Genevieve is passionate about youth upliftment and collaborates with a medically-informed multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and holistic care to adolescents facing diverse challenges in under-provided areas.
