Application for Accreditation: CPD Journal Articles and Journal Clubs

The required documents/information listed below only applies to the following activities:

  1. Learning Material with MCQ Evaluation (journal articles)
  2. Journal Club 

Important: Please note that the specific application documents/information below are applicable to Journal articles and Journal Clubs only.

  1. The completed CPD 2A Form (the application form).
  2. Hyperlinks or PDF copies of the journal articles. Articles may not be older than 5 years.
  3. The planned advert for the CPD activity (if applicable).
  4. The sample attendance register to be used to monitor attendance or the monitoring mechanism to be used if online activity.
  5. Multiple Choice Questions, noting that 1 CPD point is equivalent to 5 multiple-choice questions (MCQ’s).

Kindly refer to the guidelines below for compiling multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for CPD accreditation applications.

Pass mark

The mark of 70% is required for the award of MCQs based points.

Criteria of content

  • clear and concise, reflecting understanding;
  • each MCQ question must contain a minimum of three options, and may be of the ‘single-correct answer’ or ‘single-best‘ formats;
  • all the questions in the MCQs cannot be true/ false – maximum 20%; and
  • should contain no commercial product promotion and/ or satire.

Please be notified that CPD points for journal articles are awarded as follows:

  • Articles up to 7 pages = 1 CPD Point
  • Articles from 8 pages up to 12 pages = 2 CPD Points
  • Articles from 13 pages upwards = 3 maximum CPD Points

Journal articles accreditations are charged per article.

Important: Applications for journal club are classified under “small groups” and thus, charged per application and the total number of participants in small group activities may not exceed ten, per annum.
