Nomagugu Ngwenya is researcher at the University of South Africa’s (UNISA) Institute for Social and Health Sciences (ISHS) and a PhD candidate in the university. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand, in which she pursued her research interests in critical social psychology, or more specifically, race, gender and identity theories. Through her doctoral study and work at the Institute, her research interests have expanded to include participatory research approaches, decolonial psychosocial healing interventions and more broadly, community psychology. Through her work, Nomagugu seeks to address persisting inequalities in contemporary society, and advocate for marginalised identities
