Nominations Now Open: HPCSA Professional Board for Psychology (2025–2030 Term)

The term of office for the current HPCSA Professional Boards ends on 31 October 2025. In alignment with the Health Professions Council of South Africa’s mandate and commitment to inclusive and representative governance, nominations for new board members are now officially open—as per the gazetted notice.

This is a critical opportunity for psychology professionals to shape the future of the profession and ensure the Board reflects the diverse needs and contexts of South African society.

Nominations are specifically open for the Professional Board for Psychology, which comprises:

  • Twelve (12) psychologists

  • One (1) registered counsellor

  • One (1) psychometrist

  • One (1) representative from accredited educational institutions, nominated by Universities South Africa (USAf)

  • One (1) representative from the Department of Health
