Dr. Diana Soares De Sousa is an Educational Psychologist, Research Psychologist, and Registered Counsellor (HPCSA). In her therapeutic practice, she works with both adults and children to enhance learning, emotional resilience, and adaptive functioning, empowering clients to navigate life’s complexities with confidence and wellbeing. She serves as Head of Academic Standards and Quality Assurance and Chair of the Research and Ethics Committee at the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP), where she leads institutional efforts in academic quality and ethical research governance. Her PhD in cognitive neuropsychology of language and cognition informs her work with school-age children facing literacy challenges linked to cognitive or emotional vulnerabilities. Dr. De Sousa holds two Master’s degrees (Cum Laude) in Educational Psychology and Research Psychology, and degrees in Applied Psychology and Linguistics. Her research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of cognitive neuropsychology, developmental psychopathology, and psychological assessment. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Society of Educational Psychologists of South Africa (SEPSA) and has previously served on the Executive Committee of the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA), including as Chair of the Registered Counsellor and Psychometry Division.
