REGISTERED COUNSELLORS’ SCOPE OF PRACTICE (SOP): Psychological Tests and Assessments Survey

This quick survey will look at some of the current difficulties experienced by Registered Counsellors in terms of using psychological assessments, please refer to HPCSA Form 258 “Health Professions Council of SA: Professional Board for Psychology”, Framework for Education, Training, Registration and Scope of Registered Counsellors.

The focus of this assessment survey, is to address points 1 through 8 above; to review the current allotted assessments (some of which are Projective tests and are not part of our Scope of Practice) and b) to research the limited list of PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS TO BE USED BY REGISTERED COUNSELLORS, particularly the factors used as headings; eliminate outdated and projective tests and inform the executive committee on the current  stance toward these assessments among South African Registered Counsellors.

Please take a few minutes to complete this assessment and give honest feedback. All information collected from this survey will remain confidential and will only be used to inform the task team working on the RC SOP on matters concerning psychological assessments.

The survey should take roughly 15 minutes to complete.
