Child Protection Week started on 28 May and will continue until 4 June. The focus of this week is on issues that young South Africans under the age of 18 are facing- such as exploitation, abuse and neglect. The question is how we as psychologists, registered counsellors and psychometrists can support and advocate for these vulnerable children to achieve their full potential. It falls within our ambit to work with communities, families and government to protect children and most of all ensure that children contribute to their own protection (http://www.plan –international.org/ child-protection).
