The Health Professions Council of South Africa hosted its 1st National Conference at Emperors Palace, 18-20 August 2019. The Conference provided an opportunity for delegates across all health sectors, health regulators, policy makers, academics and service providers amongst others, to engage on regulatory matters pertaining to the healthcare environment; including the shifting global and local healthcare trends.  

Last night, PsySSA Past President, Prof Saths Cooper, was recognised and awarded the HPCSA Presidential Health Merit Award at the Gala Dinner. This award aims to acknowledge outstanding performance of individual practitioners in the various Professional Boards. Twelve winners were elected; one from each Professional Board.

PsySSA would like to congratulate and commend Prof Cooper on his relentless efforts in building a unified, relevant and responsive Psychology.
