Call for Nominations: PsySSA Executive Committee

The PsySSA Nominations Committee invites nominations for positions on the PsySSA Executive Committee that will become vacant at the 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM), to be held virtually on Zoom on Thursday, 1 October 2026 at 18:00.

Serving on the Executive Committee provides an opportunity to contribute to the governance and strategic direction of the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA) and to support the continued advancement of psychology in South Africa.

Executive Committee Positions

The following positions will be filled at the AGM:

  • President-Elect – serves for one year before assuming the office of President at the conclusion of the 32nd Annual General Meeting.
  • Treasurer – serving a two-year term (2026-2028).
  • Three Additional Members – each serving a two-year term (2026-2028).

Who May Be Nominated?

Members in good standing are encouraged to nominate suitably qualified candidates who demonstrate a commitment to advancing the vision, mission, and values of PsySSA. The Nominations Committee will consider all eligible nominations and present a slate of candidates for election at the AGM.

How to Submit a Nomination

Completed nomination forms, together with all required supporting documentation, should be emailed to Prof Garth Stevens, Chair of the Nominations Committee, at nominations@psyssa.com.

Closing date for nominations: 31 August 2026

We encourage members to consider standing for office or nominating colleagues who have the leadership, expertise, and commitment to contribute to the continued growth and success of PsySSA.
