Dr. Kyle Bester is a registered research psychologist and a senior psychology lecturer at the University of South Africa. He holds a master’s degree in research psychology from the University of the Western Cape. Dr. Bester supervises postgraduate students conducting research on topics related to cybersecurity, online security behaviour, artificial intelligence, and digital culture. His expertise lies in cybersecurity awareness within the context of the South African armed forces, as well as drone warfare in the African battlespace. He earned his PhD in Military Science from Stellenbosch University. As an emerging researcher, Dr. Bester’s interests include military science, data colonialism, cybersecurity awareness, the securitisation of cyberspace, and online security behaviour.
