DIVISIONAL FOCUS SASCH UPDATE Hypnosis is increasingly recognised as an exceptionally powerful vehicle to facilitate and augment the efficacy of virtually any therapeutic approach. Hypnosis is not a therapy in itself, but an altered state of consciousness, in which almost any mode of therapeutic intervention – from didactic training, analytic exploration, or indirect and client centred approaches - can be more effectively utilized to promote healing & growth. SASCH offers one of the most wide ranging and complete training programmes in the clinical hypnosis available internationally. The 9 training courses offered by SASCH cover extensive training in ALL of the most widely utilised hypnotherapeutic approaches most commonly utilised internationally, and includes training in indirect approaches (Ericksonian hypnotherapy & Ego-state therapy), brief, hypnoanalytic approaches (Medical hypnoanalysis & Ego-state therapy), more traditional approaches including direct suggestion, and even offers exposure to more esoteric, new-age techniques (the not-quite-so-traditional training course). Why unnecessarily bind yourself to only ONE therapeutic approach, which might not suit either yourself or your patient! An eclectic, inclusive & holistic training, which inherently offers to opportunity the specialise in one (or more) particular therapeutic modality of your choice, but includes in-depth knowledge & experience of other viewpoints, approaches & techniques, is clearly the most effective way to benefit both your clients and your practice. The training offered by SASCH is certified by the society and is of an internationally recognised standard. SASCH is a constituent member of the International Society of Hypnosis (ISH), and the vice-chairperson of SASCH, Dr Louise Olivier, is a member of the training committee of ISH. The course developers & presenters of SASCH are all in full-time private practice and are extensively trained in clinical hypnosis, having completed a five year, post-graduate training. In addition to the formal training offered by SASCH, various other workshops & seminars are presented which are intended to further therapeutic knowledge and provide exposure to a variety of therapeutic approaches, techniques & viewpoints, specifically related to psychotherapeutic and associated skills and knowledge, usually (but not limited to), the utilization of clinical hypnotherapy in clinical practice.
