As noted in his book The Psychopathology of Everyday Life, Freud described the "slip of the tongue" as being "a single thought that has remained unconscious, which manifests itself in the slip of the tongue"1. This slip of the tongue has more recently come to be known as the "Freudian slip". This tendency to utter inappropriate ideas or the "Freudian slip" provides the inspiration for the newly activated PsySSA student division newsletter.
We have paid homage to our forbearers by retaining the original name of the student division newsletter launched ten years ago but we hope that this will be the beginning and end of our faithful "traditionalism". The new student division newsletter promises to be packed full of innovative and interesting ideas and information. Furthermore the student division hopes to become more visible in universities and schools as we attempt to educate scholars and students about psychology as a discipline and a career.
We would like to encourage any students who would like to be a part of this newsletter to please contact us. We are always looking for new perspectives and we would like to ensure that this newsletter is a true reflection of the issues pertinent to students at this time.
